COVID19 - OUR THOUGHTS AND SUPPORT FOR OUR PARTNERS AND ALL OF INDIA

While the covid19 situation is improving in Europe and USA, many countries are still struggling.
As you maybe be aware the Covid-19 situation in India is unbearable.
Our main production of all our GOTS-certified cotton garments is with our trusted supplier and partner through 15 years, situated north of Mumbai, and our new organic GOTS-certified Merino wool, is with our new partner with hand-knitters in the Himalayas and machine-knit in Delhi.
Our suppliers are currently struggling with lower capacity due to the priority of safety of their staff, enforcing all the best practices for social distancing and restricted hours and even closing the factory for some days, with full pay to all the staff.
This means delays and limitations in the workflow.
We are of-course supporting them as much as we can by being attentive and ensuring cash-flow to the extent possible, so the "economic wheel" is still running, and they can support themselves and their families. They are a crucial part of us, and we cross our fingers that the staff and their families will stay safe, and Covid-19 will not reach the main factory.
In Bolivia, where our home-knitters are working on new styles in baby alpaca and llama wool for fall, they are also challenged by a third wave and living with restrictions, but it is a little better and vaccination programs are advancing. Our home-knitters are very appreciative that they still have the opportunity to work as they knit at home and stay safe, while being able to support their families.
Our thoughts go to all our suppliers and to India, wishing for their health and safety.
